At St Stephen's Juniors, we are very aware of the detrimental impact many things are having on our planet and its future. As the Eco-Warrior team, we want to take it that step further and do the very best we can in school to help Earth and our futures. Throughout the year, we will be identifying areas to focus on within our school to make the very best environmental changes we can. To help us do this, we have started by carrying out an 'Environmental Review' around the school. This review asked us to focus on the following areas: biodiversity, energy, global citizenship, healthy living, litter, marine, school grounds, transport, waste and water. Each of these areas are given a score out of 10 which then helps us to identify particular areas to focus and work on.
Our aim is to achieve the 'Eco-Schools Green Flag'. This flag is the perfect way to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the ecological achievements within our school. With 7 steps to guide us through this process, we are very much looking forward to making our planet and our future greener!
