After that, we learnt the poem, The Dragon Who Ate Our School, and we made some actions to go along with it. We then performed our poem to the rest of the school.

WOW Day! - Article 28: You have the right to a good quality education.

Today we were introduced to our new writing topic. We started off by watching the `Bee Movie` and then creating our own bee character using salt dough. After this, we thought about a setting we would like our character to explore- just like Barry did in the original film. All of these exciting ideas will be used in our writing over the term. We can't wait to show you our final pieces!

Science Day! - Article 28: You have the right to a good quality education.

To begin Term 4, we had a very exciting Science day where we learnt all about plants. Firstly, we identified the key features of a plant and dissected plants to identify the different features. By looking closely at each feature we were able to do some fantastic observational drawing!

We then investigated how water is transported within plants. We used celery and food dye to demonstrate how the stem (in particular the xylem) works.

We have really enjoyed our first day back and can't wait to continue learning more about plants!

Term 3

This term we will be continuing to focus on Global Goal 6- Clean water and sanitation, along with Article 24- Right to clean water. We will be using the book, The Water Princess- a story of Georgie Badiel and her life in Africa, as inspiration for our writing.

WOW- Water Aid (Article 24- safe water to drink)

Today we had a fantastic talk from Water Aid which helped us learn all about safe water and the availability of water on Earth. We couldn't believe that, although the world isn't made up of 70% water, only 1% of that water is drinkable. We are looking forward to learning more about this and we can't wait to think of some great ways to allow everyone to have the right to safe drinking water.

WOW- Alien Soup
