Year 3 are kick starting the year with an incredible enquiry into the lives of people living in the Stone Age to the Iron Age. We will be using the books 'The Stone Age Boy' to help us introduce targets into our writing to make it engaging for our readers.
In order to answer our enquiry question of 'What can we learn from Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age?', we will be explore what life was like for people living throughout these years to compare what was the same and what changed.
Keep checking out our webpage to see all of our fabulous work and find our the answer to our enquiry question!

We LOVE Maths in 3JW! Today we were learning to add two 2-digit numbers across a hundred boundary.
We used a build it, draw it and write it approach where we first 'build' the addition problem using tens and ones dienes manipulatives. Then we drew the problem on our whiteboards and then wrote out the number sentence in numerals.
This has really helped us secure a strong knowledge of addition in maths.
As a part of our Harvest celebrations at SSJS, we have spent the week becoming chefs!
In 3JW, we worked together to make pumpkin soup to donate to the local care home. We have discussed food hygiene, staying safe in the kitchen and utensils as well as putting our chopping skills into practice.
We cut up lots of pumpkin, potato and carrots taking it in turns to use the knife and chopping board. We also mashed all of these ingredients up for our soup.
In our computing lessons, we have been learning all about different digital devices. We have explored a range of digital devices to understand their inputs, processes and outputs.
Today's lesson was extra special! We were able to discuss, plan and design our digital devices. In 3JW, we had a range of creations; phones, digital football goals, digital animals and cameras!
