At St Stephen's, we have adopted the 'Ashley Down' multiplication booklets as our method of developing factual fluency. As part of this, the children complete at least one test a day in their classes. The results of these tests are then used to create additional multiplication intervention groups as and where needed. The Ashley Down booklets focus on memorising the multiplication and division facts as a 'sound-bite', reducing cognitive load and the amount of facts children need to learn to only 36 facts.
