Term 1

This term, we will be learning about Linneaus and Darwin through evolution and inheritance. As well as this, we will be reading the book Darwin's Dragons to support our reading lessons. In writing, we will be looking at a video called 'The Alchemist's Letter' and a book called 'The Last Alchemist' to show off our narrative and persuasive writing skills whilst using expanded noun phrases, complex sentences and a range of cohesive devices.

Being engineers

This term, we have been looking at Harvest, and we all had the opportunity to make some food to take to the local care home to share with the residents and staff. Throughout the day on Friday, we took it in turns to work with Mrs Williams to mix, knead and bake the rolls to send. Some of us were even lucky enough to even walk to the care home and deliver the rolls with some pumpkin soup made by Year 3.

Being me in this world

As part of this term's JIGSAW piece, we had to think about what we wanted our goals to be. We thought about the obstacles we might face in meeting this goal and then came up with solutions to these. We even thought of a reward we could give ourselves for reaching our goals, so watch out parents/carers, it could be costly!

Team building

To begin our year, we participated in many different team-building activities to help us bond as a class and get to know our new class members better. One of these activities was a team drawing. We each had 2 minutes to start a drawing before passing it along to our group of 4. We each had 2 turns at adding to each picture before we got our original picture back and were able to colour it in and see the finished product.
