This term, we will be exploring the question "Are wolves and humans similar?", looking at the digestive system and teeth. As well as this, we will be reading the book Who Let the Gods Out by Maz Evans to support our reading lessons. In writing, we will be using the book, "Wolves in the Walls" by Neil Gaiman to help us write a narrative using inverted commas.

Recently, we celebrated Harvest Festival and we didn't want it to just end with 4TM's wonderful church service. As a school, we have been thinking of those less fortunate than us and decided a good way to show our recognition, would be to make something. In Year 4, we made pumpkin soup which will be taken to the retirement home not far from our school. To begin with, we looked at the different ways to make sure we practised good food hygiene by washing our hands, making sure food was not cross-contaminated and making sure our hair was tied back. We started by scooping out the inside of the pumpkin (it was very sticky and slimy). After this, we then chopped up the pumpkin, potatoes, carrots and onions into smaller pieces. During lunch, the vegetables were left to boil. In the afternoon, we then mashed the vegetables and used a blender to make sure it was all really smooth. We were then really lucky as we got to try the soup – lots of us loved it very much!
In our enquiry lessons, we have been learning all about food chains. We really enjoyed looking at a range of different animals and working out whether they were consumers, producers, prey or predators.
