PE and Sport

Sport is a vital part of life at St Stephen's! We are part of a local area Sports Partnership where we regularly compete in inter-school competitions. We have also joined up with Sporting Chance and have weekly curriculum support as well as after school provision provided by these specialist coaches. Click the links below to find out how we have got on this year in each individual sport.

Back to out of school competitions and we love it! Meet our tag rugby and football teams.  Throughout this year we are planning to get more and more children involved in competitions.  We hope to compete in a number of friendlies against local schools.  Keep popping back here to find out about all of the other competitions we join in on!

Sports day 2021!

What a day!  It was great to be back doing what we love!  Well done Lowinger for winning this year.  St Stephen's definitely grow a great bunch of athletes.

X Country CSET Competition

Wow!  What a bunch of fitties!  Super proud of this well-mannered lovely lot! They represented St Stephens very well. We are keeping our fingers crossed for another win to hold onto our title!

Sporting Chance

Every child at St Stephen's has specialist PE teaching from a coach from Sporting Chance.

Wake and Shake

To help to keep us fit and active at St Stephen's and to begin our school day the right way, we take part in Wake and Shake every morning on the playground. The Wake and Shake team are in charge of choreographing new routines and leading us every morning. Being active every morning helps us to stay focused throughout the school day.

Because of COVID restrictions at the moment, each class wakes up in a different way.  Some complete laps of the field or boot  camp moves in class whereas others complete mindful activities or yoga.

Running Club

St Stephen's are lucky enough to have a professionally running coach who comes to school twice a week for running club.  The children really respect Dave who is from Bristol and West athletics and always give him enthusiasm and commitment.
