Everyone enjoys spending the cold winter nights at home, playing board games with family and loved ones.. so what is better than creating one for yourself?
In games club each term, we will be working towards recreating our favourite board games - only with our own rules and themes to make the games extra special. From creating the board, down to cutting up pieces for playing, we will be starting from scratch to create our own board games to enjoy with others.
Working in groups, we designed and created our own versions of our favourite board games. Each group picked their own board game to do, researching the rules and changing parts of the original game so that it can be played how they wanted it.
They carefully designed each part of the game, looking at the measurements that each piece would need to be in order for it to work. They thought about the materials they would need in order to bring their design to life and thought about different themes to explore.
Once this was done, each group split up the responsiblities so that everyone had a task to complete in order for the game to be a success. This allowed for everyone to be busy working on creating a classic board game that they could call their own.
