E-Safety Week April 2015

E-safety Week

We have re-launched our whole school approach to e-safety through a brilliant e-safety week in term 4. Being organised and ran by largely the digital leaders, the whole school got involved in a range of activities to ensure everyone knew the dangers associated with working online. To begin with every child discussed and signed our new Acceptable Use Policy, helping everyone in the school understand the consequences of unsafe and irresponsible usage of our brilliant ICT resources. The children also learned about the importance of protecting their passwords, involving every child changing their password using a mixture of characters and numbers. Furthermore, in lower school, the children focussed on what they should do if they are ever cyber-bullied, creating posters and informative videos. Whereas in upper school, the children looked at their own digital footprints - the mark they leave behind when they use the internet. This was particularly useful as the children got to see how what they do and post online now, could potentially be seen by future employers.
