Equalities

At St Stephen's Juniors we continually strive to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to take part in the life of the school. In addition, the school has a statutory duty to promote equality, including disability, race and gender equality, and actively challenge discrimination.

We carry out these duties through the application of school policy, working closely with families, staff training, making modifications to the school environment or curriculum, and through our teaching and learning. Many of our staff are trained to provide support for specific medical needs and to provide intimate care where necessary. Our equalities policy can be found below.

Equalities team
We have a dedicated team of children who are responsible for reporting on, promoting and upholding our equalities vision. These children meet regularly with Mrs Ford to share any issues or concerns raised by their class, discussing these and resolving them appropriately. Our equalities team also have the opportunity to take part in assemblies and share information with their classes. Here are the children in our equalities team this year.
