2017 South Gloucestershire Festival of Youth Sport

What a fantastic Saturday we have had...

We had 3 teams in the Festival of Youth Sport today at SGS College. Over 800 children were involved and competition was tough!

Our Girls football team played brilliantly, winning the tournament and collecting a stunning trophy. Our Year 4 boys were outstanding...they won 4 lost one and finished 3rd overall...other coaches said what an amazing team they were.

Our Year 4 and 5 girls came second overall in the athletics. That was an amazing result. Our boys athletics team went a stage further winning their competition and collecting another huge trophy.

Well done to all the children and the parents who came to support. It was a great day and every child performed brilliantly.

A hugely proud day for St Stephen's!

2016 South Gloucestershire Festival of Youth Sport

What an outstanding weekend of sport it has been for our children. On Saturday 11th June, we had 4 teams competing in the Festival of Youth Sport at Filton College. This is a huge event with over 800 children taking part in 8 different sports.

Our Girl's Football Team were brilliant. They played 5 games, winning 4 and losing only one. They scored 11 goals and conceded 1. They eventually lost 2-1 in the final but should be very proud of their efforts!

Our Year 3/4 Boy's Football Team were excellent throughout. They played 5 games, winning 4 and losing one. They scored 13 and conceded 5. They finished second in their group and won the 3rd and 4th playoff 3-0. This is a huge achievement considering the team was mostly Year 3s.

We were also in the athletics. Each child competed in 4 field events and either the 75m of the 600m. Then they all took part in the 4x100 relay. Our training paid off, they were amazing in every event. To end the day, our girls came 2nd in the relay and our boys won their relay. After a short wait to hear the results, we were delighted to be crowned 2016 Boys and Girls Champions!

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters who came to cheer us on. Thank you also to the staff for your hard work!!
