Anti-Bullying Day

Picture 1

We had a whole school Anti-Bullying Week on 14th - 18th November. The aim of the week was to raise awareness of bullying  and ways in which we could help to prevent it. We adopted the Anti-Bullying Alliance slogan, 'Power for Good' and we had the following aims:

  • To support children to use their 'Power for Good' - by understanding the ways in which they are powerful and encouraging individual and collective action to stop bullying and create a positive environment within school.

  • To help parents/carers to use their 'Power for Good' - through supporting children with issues relating to bullying and working together with our school to to stop it.

  • To work with teachers and other school staff to use their 'Power for Good' - by supporting children and helping them understand how bullying can be prevented and the importance of reporting incidents of bullying as soon as possible.

Each Year group had different activities throughout the week including, drama, story mapping, poetry, advice posters and stop bullying posters. All children wrote an anti-bullying message an a blue hand to show their support in preventing bullying.

We aim to revisit anti-bullying at the start of Term 3 and then repeat the activities throughout the year to ensure our anti-bullying message remains high on the agenda.

Our Agreed Definition of 'bullying'
