In Term 3, Year 5 and 6 school councillors got together to talk about playtimes at St. Stephen’s. We talked about how important is it that playtimes give us the opportunity to unwind, and get ourselves ready for learning. We visited another school that had a Playpod, and saw how much the children enjoyed their breaks. We could also see how having more things to do at lunch, helps children develop better relationships with one another, and also allows them to be more creative by getting involved in imaginative play.
As a group, we put our findings into a video, and presented our bid to the PTA. You can see what we thought by watching the video below.
We were pleased to find that the PTA agreed with our suggestions, and have offered to help by funding our own Playpod. Watch this space!
